Clayton Sabine: Press

"Working with music as much as I do I’m often looking for music that I think will stick, stand the test of time. Clayton Sabine’s work will do just that. I will go so far as to say – if you don’t like this new album, then you don’t have a soul."
Peter Case, Music Director WKVT FM & AM
"Sabine has found a solid acoustic-rocking vehicle for his lamentations on love gone awry.” “Sabine continued to gain confidence in his husky voice, which sounds not unlike that of Richard Shindell” “With the backing of his band on the new CD,
Sabine sounds more confident in his vocals and more mature as a songwriter” -Dave Madeloni
Dave Madeloni - Brattleboro Reformer
"This Vermont songwriter sings like a more affected Will Oldham and writes like a young allegiant to John Prine and Elliott Smith. Literal and even-handed folk turmoil". —Grayson Currin, www.indyweek.com
For me Clayton's voice is somewhat reminiscent of Adam Duritz of the Counting Crows, but with a smoother texture (think velvet). His lyrics create vivid tales of the complexities found in the 21st century (as in the song "The Craftsman"). Kudos to Clayton AND the BAND for creating a winning ticket in their latest cd.
